Hannah Pickett Dance


Hannah Pickett Dance aims to use contemporary dance to empower confidence and self expression, engage a wide range of ages and abilities in dance participation and inspire creativity, teamwork and having a artistic voice .

Hannah Pickett is a professional dance artist, choreographer, teacher and improviser based in Milton Keynes.

After graduating from the University of Roehampton with a First Class (hons) Dance Studies Degree, she has taught contemporary classes to adults, young people and children, produced numerous dance performances and choreographed professional and youth dance pieces.

Hannah specialises in teaching creative and contemporary workshops to young people and adults and facilitates improvisational workshops. Hannah is a Dance Specialist for primary & secondary schools and currently teaches children and young adults of all different ages and abilities in a variety of school and workshop settings. She provides INSET training for teachers and a range of topic based and wellbeing dance workshops to Primary Schools in Milton Keynes and Beds/Bucks/Herts.

She choreographs, directs and produces exciting, innovative contemporary dance work that inspires a diverse mix of participants and audience to engage in making and enjoying dance. Her choreographic work ranges from professional group choreography, site specific work, youth dance and music and dance improvisational performance and has been performed at Greenwich Dance (London), Brighton Fringe Festival, The Old Market Theatre (Hove), OUTPOST Gallery (Norwich) and in Milton Keynes and Amsterdam.

In Summer 2021, Hannah Pickett Dance will be developing a new contemporary dance work that explores themes, ideas and stories of isolation, belonging and resilience. The project is in partnership with Hertfordshire Library Service and funded by National Lottery Arts Council England and the East Herts District Council.

Hannah Pickett is a contemporary dance artist, choreographer and teacher based in Milton Keynes. Since graduating with a first class BA (hons) Dance Degree from the University of Roehampton, she has taught, choreographed and performed nationally and internationally in different festivals and platforms including Brighton Fringe Festival, Barcelona International Dance Exchange, Freakatoni Witchy Improvisational Weekend, Amsterdam and at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

Effie McGuire Ward

Dancer


Effie McGuire Ward is a contemporary dance artist. She trained at Stella Mann College and Northern School of Contemporary Dance.

 Her performance projects have included working with Shobana Jeyasingh, Rosemary Lee, Gary Clarke, Stopgap Dance Company, Ffin Dance, NOCTURN and Two Thirds Sky. She is currently a support artist for the Collective IDentity Project with Danielle Teale: engaging people with Parkinson’s in the creation of an exhibition that will tour libraries, arts centres and hospitals.

Effie teaches contemporary dance at Tring Park Associates. She was previously an animateur for Rambert – delivering UK wide dance workshops. She also co-founded and co-directed MÓTUS, a dance festival for Milton Keynes for its first five years.

Lauren Segal

Dancer


Lauren is a Freelance Dance Artist from Luton & trained at NSCD, University of Surrey & gained her MA at University of Chichester performing for mapdance in 2013.

Lauren has worked with Sheron Wray, Drake Music, Roswitha Chesher, Rosemary Lee, Helen Parlor, Gary Clarke, Yael Flexer, Laura Lloyd, artist Markus Hansen and as Assistant to the Directors of Tangled Feet, Mimbré & NGYT on projects for Imagine Luton.

Since 2014 Lauren has taught dance for NGYT CIC in Luton & is currently part of their core and outreach team, a Project Manager & is Assistant Director of NGYT Dance Company.

Lauren is Co-Director, Co-Choreographer & Performer for Sonder Dance Theatre.

Hannah Delaney

Hannah Delaney is a professionally trained dancer (University of Chichester, mapdance), working freelance in performance, teaching and project management roles (Hannah Pickett Dance, Emily O’Shea Company, BEEE Creative, Springs Dance Company, Dance Equation, FLUX Dance and others).

Mithun Gill

Dancer


Mithun Gill is a versatile dance artist with training in Kathak and contemporary as part of his dance degree. Having trained in both styles, Mithun has a unique performance quality.

Kathak has installed a strong sense of rhythm and musicality in his dance and the contemporary training has brought a range of movement dynamics allowing his body to find its own style.
