Hannah Pickett Dance delivers inspiring dance lessons to a variety of schools as a curriculum enrichment activity or as an extra curricular activity.
Hannah Pickett Dance excels and challenges children’s creativity, self-esteem, confidence, self-development and motivation. It uses dance to empower young people to create and express themselves through movement and teamwork.
This unique project offers a range of sessions including performance projects, mental health and wellbeing sessions, gifted and talented sessions, PPA cover and art week workshops.
Each class is creatively tailored to suit all ages and abilities, encouraging inventiveness and exploration that will promote each child’s individual achievements and wellbeing. Through diverse dance sequences and choreographic challenges, the children are able to fully explore their creative potential. I encourage team building through games, tasks and choreography, inspiring the children to engage with movement vocabulary, musicality and exciting co-ordination techniques.

Euro/ World Cup Dance Workshops
To celebrate the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022, Hannah Pickett Dance is delivering workshops in schools to celebrate traditional dance styles and cultures from countries competing in the tournament. Participants will learn basic steps from traditional styles of dance from different countries and have an opportunity to work together and create their own dance. There is a strong emphasis on wellbeing, teamwork and empowering the children to feel determined, proud and brave as well as celebrating Milton Keynes as one of the host cities. Workshops range from 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Arts Week
Hannah Pickett Dance offers a dance and choreography sessions as an activity for the National Gallery Take One Picture Primary School Art week scheme. High quality developmental activities will be tailored to meet the different ages and development stages of the children and will be linked to the overall themes of the Arts Week.
Creative Dance Workshops
Hannah Pickett Dance offers dance sessions a 12-week programme of weekly dance classes to Primary schools as PPA cover and builds towards a performance in the final week. Sessions focus on creative ideas and student led choreography and the students design their own dances to share and perform at the end of each session. Learning activities will be made up of taught dance sequences, improvisation, choreographic tasks and time for rehearsal and refinement and will prepare the children to perform confidently to parents, friends and teachers. These sessions are based around a central theme and can reinforce academic learning, mental health and wellbeing or class topic ideas.
Performance Projects
This project consists of 6 X 1 hour dance sessions, which build to a final performance. The workshops are flexible with the school and could focus on a whole classes, select groups (i.e. gifted and talented) and may be stand alone or as part of a larger class performance. These workshops are ideal for a year 6 production or a performance based on the class’s topic to reinforce academic learning.
Gifted and Talented
Gifted and Talented sessions empower secondary school students with individual tasks and group work. It focuses on excelling their talents and allowing students to explore their choreographic voice and creativity. The creative dance sessions enhances teamwork and cooperation. It uses a compilation of different dance styles and promotes students individualism.

Hannah Pickett Dance provides dance CPD and INSET sessions to Primary Schools in the Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.
These sessions inspire and develop teacher’s knowledge and understanding to deliver high quality dance in schools. It looks at the National Curriculum and requirements of dance in the P.E syllabus and gives teachers an experience of using different creative and performance tools for teaching dance.
